Conduit's FactoryOS platform allows manufacturers to scale production-ready automation solutions in days, not months. With a suite of powerful applications, we let manufacturers automate faster and smarter by coordinating every robot, machine, and system on one platform. At Conduit, our mission is to give every American manufacturer the power to automate their factories at lightning speed.
We're already deployed in production at top manufacturers and growing fast. Backed by leading investors, and built by a team that moves at startup speed with deep conviction in American industrial dominance.
The Role
Conduit is building a factory operating system to power manufacturers across the globe. The web app is where factory operators actually see and control their floor live. This role owns that surface end to end: from the React UI an operator stares at all shift, through the API, down to the data.
We move fast and ship to real factories every week. As a Product Engineer you'll take features from a rough idea to in-production, talk to the people using them, and iterate. You won't be handed tickets — you'll own problems. If you like shipping things users touch the same week you build them, this is the seat.
This role serves as a force multiplier for the team, focusing on faster feature delivery and working closely with our UI/UX designer to optimize product usage. You will also partner directly with our Frontend Lead to build and evolve our component library, design system, and internal tooling, ensuring we don't just ship fast, but ship fast with high standards.
We value depth over breadth. You will own the full-stack FDE experience for 1 customer or provide high-leverage support for a key account, allowing you to master our system rather than being spread thin across deployments.
What you'll do
Build features end to end — Next.js / React / TypeScript on the front, a Python (Chalice/Lambda) API and real device data on the back.
Make complex factory data legible. Turn live fleet, machine, and sensor data into interfaces an operator understands at a glance.
Ship fast and close the loop. Get features in front of real users quickly, watch how they're used (analytics, session replay), and iterate. Prototype, measure, refine.
Sweat the craft. Care about the details (performance, responsiveness, the empty states and error cases) on a product people depend on to run their factory.
Work directly with customers and the founding team to decide what to build next, and go to the floor to see how it actually lands.
Who You Are
2+ years at a top-tier startup with a clear track record of promotion and high slope.
T-shaped engineer: You have deep expertise in React / TypeScript, but are not "blind" to other parts of the stack. You are comfortable navigating backend, devops, and data flows to own a feature from UI to database.
You've shipped real features to real users and have opinions about product, not just code.
Bias to action: you'd rather get a rough version in front of users this week than perfect it for a month.
Can justify a decision, spot when something's over-built, and simplify.
Available to work in-person in San Francisco and occasionally travel onsite to customers.
You have strong opinions on what makes a good API vs. a good UI, and you aren't afraid to advocate for simplicity when building features.
Bonus Points
Eye for design / UX, or experience working closely with designers
Data visualization, mapping (Mapbox), or 3D (Three.js / react-three-fiber)
Real-time / streaming data in the UI, and performance work on data-heavy views
Mobile experience (Flutter or React Native)
Product analytics and experimentation (Amplitude, Segment, session replay)
Familiarity with manufacturing, robotics, or any hardware-meets-software product
Your First 60 Days
First week: Ship your first feature to a production factory environment.
First 30 days: Identify and optimize a key UX/Data performance bottleneck in our core dashboard.
First 60 days: Own the end-to-end deployment for a new customer, from schema to screen.
Top-tier pay and equity. We want to make it easy to join Conduit.
Generational opportunity. Be early at a company defining the software layer for industrial automation.
American re-industrialization is happening. We're building the platform to make it real — faster.
Zero bureaucracy. High impact. You'll ship to real factories, fast, and see the impact immediately.
You will level up. You'll work directly with the founder and exec team — and grow fast.
