The Role
We are looking for a High-Velocity Frontend Engineer who uses AI as a force multiplier to ship product features at a founding-team pace. At Conduit, we don’t measure success by lines of code, but by the speed and quality of features delivered to the factory floor.
You are a "Product Engineer" who can steer AI agents to handle the heavy lifting while maintaining the architectural judgment necessary to keep our large-scale platform performant, readable, and maintainable for years to come.
What you'll do
AI-Orchestrated Development: Use agentic coding tools to scaffold and iterate on features. You are the "pilot" who ensures the AI-generated output meets our high standards for logic and UX.
Architectural Stewardship: Navigate and contribute to a large, evolving codebase. You ensure that even while moving fast, the code remains modular, DRY, and easy to build upon.
Performance & Scale: Implement frontend patterns that stay performant under heavy data loads (real-time robotics telemetry, complex 3D maps, and industrial dashboards).
Product & Design Thinking: Bridge the gap between a rough idea and a functional tool. You have the "taste" to make smart UI/UX decisions on the fly without needing a pixel-perfect spec for every edge case.
Build for the Long Term: Write clean, highly-typed React and TypeScript code. You know how to use AI to generate tests and documentation to ensure long-term stability.
Who You Are
Speed + Discipline: You have a "bias for action", work with extreme agility, and simultaneously know how to prevent "AI-generated technical debt."
Large Systems Experience: 3–6 years of experience working within large, complex web applications. You understand how to manage state, side effects, and dependencies at scale.
AI-Native Workflow: You have a proven ability to use AI to 10x your output. You know how to write effective prompts, manage context windows, and—crucially—debug AI-generated code faster than you could write it yourself.
Core Tech Mastery: Pro-level proficiency in React and TypeScript. You understand the underlying patterns that make a frontend architecture "good" versus just "functional."
Operational Alignment: Strict willingness to work in US PST timings. You must be online and moving at the same pace as our SF-based team and our US-based customers.
Bonus Points
Experience with TailwindCSS, ShadCN, B2B SaaS, performance profiling (React DevTools, Chrome Profiler) and optimizing large-scale SPAs.
Experience with Python, ROS, AWS, pub-sub
Background in robotics, IoT, high frequency data, or real-time data visualization.
Experience migrating large codebases.
A portfolio of products shipped with significant AI assistance.
