Conduit has built the system of record for the modern factory floor. We move manufacturers from one-off automation projects to holistic production systems where robots, machines, operators, sensors, and factory software synchronize. We are live with top manufacturers, are well capitalized, and are growing quickly. We are hiring the industrial computer vision engineer who is tired of vendor-locked machine-vision tools and ready to build the modern version that will run the American factory floor.
The Role
This is a customer-first FDE role for an engineer who has already deployed vision systems in industrial settings. You know what it takes to run real-time inference on a factory floor. You will go into customer plants, scope what they need, design and deploy the camera / edge / model stack, and own it through go-live and ramp. You will spend time with plant managers and CEOs as much as with operators and IT. You will be the customer’s conduit for machine learning, prioritization, and implementation of the OFL.
What you'll do
Lead CV/ML deployments at customer plants.
Build full pipelines from training to inference, including the data work (manual labeling, automated / programmatic labeling, weak supervision, active learning loops).
Apply CV to real industrial problems: defect, classification, ergonomics, action recognition, material / part tracking, machine state, operator-assist.
Spec and procure the hardware. You are trusted to order tens of thousands of dollars of compute and cameras when the line needs it.
Run the streaming side. Multi-camera setups, sync, edge inference, smart triggers, alerting, downsampling to cloud.
Communicate clearly upward. The plant manager and CEO get clean answers from you. The SF product team gets clear briefs.
Reduce deployment time on every customer.
Who You Are
5+ years deploying CV/ML systems in industrial environments, including manufacturing, AV, warehousing, logistics, energy, agriculture, or similar.
Strong Python. Experienced with PyTorch and machine learning libraries. Fluent in modern CV (detection, segmentation, classification, action recognition, vision transformers) and in inference toolchains (TensorRT, ONNX, Triton, DeepStream).
You have built end-to-end pipelines from training to inference and dealt with the data side seriously, labeling at scale, both manual and automated.
You are a hardware-comfortable software engineer. You have ordered GPUs, set up edge boxes, mounted cameras, and dealt with the parts of the job that are not in a notebook.
You are a credible customer presence.
You want to be a part of the reindustrialization of the United States.
Bonus Points
Experience with industrial machine vision (Cognex, Keyence, Zebra / Adaptive Vision, MVTec Halcon) and an opinion about what they get right and wrong.
Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, Orin, Triton, TensorRT, DeepStream.
Background in ergonomics, pose estimation, action recognition, or video understanding for industrial work.
Experience integrating CV systems with PLCs, MES, or operator HMIs.
Experience leading deployments in regulated environments (automotive, aerospace, food/bev, pharma).
You have seen what is wrong with industrial computer vision. Conduit is the chance to rebuild it inside the kinds of plants where it can scale.
Top tier pay and equity: We want to make it easy to join Conduit.
Generational opportunity. Be early at a company defining the software layer for industrial automation.
American re-industrialization is happening. We’re building the platform to make it real — faster.
Zero bureaucracy. High impact. You’ll be on the front lines, solving real problems for real factories.
You will level up. You’ll work directly with the founder and exec team — and grow into a senior operator
Conduit is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
